- More than 75 employees were temporarily laid off at TMK Ipsco in Blytheville after they were warned of the possibility 2 months ago. According to Roger Bentley, TMK Ipsco Corporate Director of Communications, the plant is laying off 76 employees after it laid off 42 other people in June. Bentley said the layoffs are temporary and jobs could be available if oil prices rise and drilling ramps back up. He said the plant itself is not closing. Bentley said the plant builds tubes used in the drilling process.
